Students are making connections with creating visual rhythm with repeated lines and shapes, they also made colors pop with use of complementary color scheme's on each side.

Character Critters
Fifth Grade Students are working on a unit of Cultural Design. In this imaginative project they created concept art that had visual contrast by working with patterns inside the contour line of the animal and later painted with bold colors. Student's also branded their character's with a positive adjective.

Family Animal Totem
Third Grade and MAP 2/3 are working on a multicultural unit of Art and the Americas. These are a few completed collage totem's. Students learned about mythology, symbolism and visual story telling. Symmetry, relief, and shape were also explored.
Second Grade Nature Abstractions
Students are currently making art investigations and connections with a unit on Nature and Art. After looking very close at images from nature, students zoomed in on shapes, line, and color to capture their interpretation. Watercolor paint, pastels, and pencil techniques were also taught.
Second Grade: Zentangle inspired lines and pattern.
First week of school all grades design their sketchbook cover. Sketchbooks are used to plan projects and to encourage personal visual art making.
